This foundation course is a practical, industry standard, hands-on, case study based approach to managing projects that focus on the principles of operational project management. It provides practical examples of project planning concepts of each knowledge area. This course provides an overview of key project concepts and terminology, and helps individuals effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, and close a project. It also helps develop and improve project management skills for managing current and future projects and is an ideal course for providing immediate implementation of project management knowledge and skills in your work place.

  • Basics of creating a project charter and tying it to a business case, effectively gathering and documenting requirements, creating a work   breakdown structure (WBS) based on the project charter and project requirements
  • Key stakeholders how they are identified, their impact and influence, their roles in a typical project, and the importance of establishing and using a communication plan
  • Project schedule network diagram how to create precedence diagrams to show task dependencies, determine critical path, and calculate float
  • Project quality and risk how to plan quality into a project and identify, analyze, develop responses, and develop a risk register
