SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum Required Education and Experience
1. First degree from a tertiary level institution preferable in Management Studies or Finance
2. Jamaica Insurance Diploma preferred.
3. Professional education and designation(s), ACII preferred.
4. Minimum of 10 years overall working experience in the Insurance Broking Sector with
at least 5 years at the supervisory level.
5. Minimum of 4 years involved in Motor/Property/Casualty/Liability
6. Registered as a Sales Representative by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) to
transact business in general insurance.

Job Purpose
a) To provide professional advice, insurance counselling, risk management, insurance purchasing,

Technical
1. Very Good knowledge of all classes of general insurance.
2. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
3. Good knowledge of technological environment to support business operations in the
Insurance Broking Services sector.
4. Compliance with organization and regulatory policies and procedures.
Job Duties
Management/Administrative Responsibilities
1. To service designated client accounts on a continuous basis.
2. To indirectly supervise the work performance of subordinates.
3. To co-ordinate tender meetings for brain storming and strategizing
4. As far as possible to liaise with the Claims Department personnel and with insurance
companies concerning claims matters for clients to ensure that advice is given to clients
accordingly within the shortest possible period.
5. To lead on assigned tenders.
Technical/Professional Responsibilities
1. To provide clients with factual information, advice and assistance in the protection of
their assets, income, liabilities and interests
2. To ensure the prompt settlement of claims by liaising with the claims department
3. To be integrally involved in the coordination and execution of tenders for the
organization.
4. To negotiate insurance contracts, and alterations to contracts, on behalf of clients with
underwriters.
5. To formulate and participate in creating alternative programmes.
