General Description of the Role:
The Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for supervising the mechanical maintenance service of plants and warehouses. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager.
The Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator solves the problems related to malfunctions  attributable to the mechanical field and guarantees the good functioning of the plants, machines and equipment of the plant
from a mechanical point of view.



Key Responsibilities and Activities:


 Reports to the Maintenance Manager and collaborates with the Supply chain operations for the performance of its functions


 Identifies and contributes to the optimal technical solutions for the minimization of costs and the maximization of production efficiency


 Coordinates the internal and external mechanical resources and is responsible for carrying out the assigned repairs


 Supervises the activities of assigned staff, monitors their performance and conducts timely performance appraisals as required by the Company


 Contributes to ensuring the safe operation of equipment


 Manages workshop equipment and tools


 Collaborates with the Stores Team Leader to comply with the company spare parts management procedures


 Collaborates with colleagues in the Plant in the application of Lean Manufacturing and
Maintenance principles/practices


 Contributes to the activities necessary to support the maintenance, quality, health, safety and environment management systems


 Ensures the proper use of safety devices and personal protective equipment


 Drives technical and procedural measures to solve the problems related to malfunctions
attributable to the mechanical field


 Ensures the timely execution of mechanical maintenance activities at the appropriate times, as well as the carrying out of extraordinary mechanical interventions based on emergencies occurred, in line with the production needs of the plant


 Takes part in the commissioning of the new equipment in order to ensure its correct functioning


 Ensures the proper use of the equipment;


 Participates in the optimization of spare parts stocks in line with the Management Control
guidelines


 Reports emergencies or dangerous conditions;


 Contributes to the activities necessary to support the maintenance, quality, health, safety and environment management systems


 Ensures the proper use of safety devices and personal protective equipment


 Complies with Company procedures and provisions on quality, health, safety and environment management systems in order to continue continuous improvement


 Informs direct superiors of the non-compliance with the legislative provisions on health and safety and the environment and Food Safety, as well as any discrepancies concerning the application of the rules, procedures and instructions on health and safety and the environment and Food Safety
defined by the Company


 Takes part in investigations into accidents, injuries and near accidents;
 


Required Education, Skills and Competencies:


 At least 5 years work experience in manufacturing factories with positions in Production and/or Plant Engineering and/or Maintenance


 Preference for experience in the Food & Beverage industry


 Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification


 Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills


 Possess strong organization and management skills


 Good interpersonal and leadership skills


 Excellent communication skills, both oral & written


 Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applicable to a manufacturing environment


 Strong knowledge of engineering standards, in particular statutory and mandatory requirements for facilities, plants and equipment


 Project Management Training


 Exposure to Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications


 Competent in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Software


 Competent in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning Software; SAP


 Competent in the use of MS Office Suite

You will be primarily responsible for the provision of the necessary support needed to Customers and the Sales
Department. The Job will be defined by additional responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:


 Maintaining and developing relationships with new and existing customers in person via telephone and
email,
 Acting as a contact between the company and its existing and potential markets,
 Organize and create accounts for customers,
 Gathering market and customer information,
 Provide customers with quotations as and when needed,
 Receive and process client orders according to prescribed standards,
 Effective monitoring of service requests received ensuring that responses are undertaken in a timely,
efficient and effective manner,
 Updating of relevant databases and processing of service requests according to prescribed standards,
 Maintain and submit neat and accurate reports in a timely fashion,
 Attending team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues,
 Maintain effective communication between all departments and staff,
 Effective monitoring of company’s suite of printer management software solutions whereby ensuring that
client’s needs and the company’s objectives are met efficiently,
 Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

 Prior work-experience in a similar capacity.
