The RIGHT candidate will:
- Ensure that meals are prepared to customers liking
- Ensure that quality culinary dishes are served on schedule
- Ability to rectify any problems that may arise with any dish
- Approves all prepared food items leaving the kitchen
- Modify and create new menus as needed so that the business remains effective for the purposes of the restaurant
- Maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Managing food purchasing and storage
- Training new employees and creating the schedule to ensure adequate manning for the kitchen
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiter or patron.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to health standards
- Train and instruct cooks and workers in proper food preparation procedures
- Guide, direct, and motivate subordinates
Qualification and Experience
- First Degree in Food Services & Preparation, or its equivalent
- Minimum of at least two (2) years of experience in a similar position
- Experience in inventory and costing (an asset)
Other Requirements:
- Ability to train kitchen staff
- Monitor and control resources
- Coordinate all issues with clients between sales, service and accounts.
- Control machines and processes
